Abstract:Waterborne coatings was an important direction for environmentally friendly
development. A systematic evaluation and analysis of waterborne coatings were conducted
based on the advantages and disadvantages of products,performance characteristics,field
application results and comprehensive costs of waterborne coatings. The results indicated that
a
waterborne coating with a service life of over 3 years have been pulverization,nd the degree of
pulverization of the coating increased with the extension of service life. The average price of
waterborne coatings was 41. 7% higher than that of solvent based coatings of the same type,
and the cost of anticorrosive engineering projects using waterborne coatings was 13. 0% higher
than that using solvent based coatings. Quality control measures about key links such as raw
materials,construction environment,painting process,and completion inspection were
proposed. The application scope of waterborne coatings in the petrochemical field was
